Dead to tour in ‘09, Mike goes digging for his St. Stephen shirt…

It seems that my post on New Year’s eve was especially appropriate. At the stroke of midnight on January 1, out in California, the remaining members of the Grateful Dead, now known as “The Dead”, announced that they will be hitting the road this spring, stopping in sixteen cities over nineteen dates. The tour includes stops in DC, two nights in Philly, two nights at the Meadowlands, and a night each at MSG and at the Mausoleum out on Long Island, just to name a few.

Time to break out the Birks. Oh wait, I wear those all the time anyway…

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!!!!

Happy Festivus!

Ciao, baby

Today’s draw for the knockout stage of the Champions League saw Arsenal drawn against Roma. This could actually be the easiest of all of the potential opponents, as Barca, Bayern Munich and Panathanaikos were all in the pot as well. The matches will take place February 24 and March 11.

New U2 album on the “Horizon”

U2 announced today that their 12th studio album, “No Line on the Horizon” will be released this March; on the 2nd in Europe, and on the 3rd here in the US. According to various reports, the band was in London recently filming the video for the first single, “Get On Your Boots”, so I’d imagine we may see that sometime in late January.

In addition, Pitchfork reports that U2 will also be contributing a track to the new War Child benefit album, Hero, which is set for February release.
